Iva's on Garou's Storyline/Love Story
Childhood
Garou
“Play with ants? She’s quite sunny and seems nice…she’s pretty loud though.”
— Garou.
As a child, Garou could be described as a little idea storm, a great imagination and a big awareness to worlds not every kid has, though that didn’t mean that half of these ideas were said by him completely, he would mention them from time to time when the opportunity (or whenever he could) was shown. He was a gloomy kid, often looking melancholic and alone due to his lack of friends, he was unpopular and a social outcast that after his encounter with Tacchan, would get worse by being seen as a problematic individual. Garou would often stay away from the other kids in the lunch break, finding joy in small bugs crawling through his hand whenever he was about to catch them, which never lasted long because of not liking “taking away their freedom”, he would also read his favorite bug catalogue and try to play the hero’s by himself, where he would give him the final punch to the unbeatable (now beatable) justice-man. Garou meets Ivanna in one of his lunch breaks, hiding in his favorite spot in the whole school and finding joy and comfort in his favorite catalogue once more, comparing one of the bugs he found with the one on the picture and giggling to himself at the realization that he found a new one, the need of telling someone else kicked in and once again saddened the young boy since he didn’t have any friends to tell them about it, that’s when Ivanna appears and bluntly talks to him and with a smile compliments his catalogue, surprising Garou in the action and not knowing what to say nor how to react to the sudden girl in his now not so secret hideout. He looks at her and shyly makes space for her to sit, he thinks how loud yet sunny she is and slowly nods his head to her words, then she makes the offer of playing with ants, which surprised him, and explained to her immediately that capturing them was not a good idea from all the bugs they could find, he shows her, in his excitement about the topic, his new found bug and spend the rest of the lunch talking about them.
Iva
“HE HAS A BUG CATALOGE! I wonder if he likes ants too. Should I talk? He looks lonely…”
— Iva.
In her childhood, Ivanna used to be a very energetic girl that loved to talk, often causing herself trouble with her classmates, teachers and grades, she would often sit wherever and talk to the person next to her which annoyed a few people around her, especially her teachers. Even if she was nice and friendly to everyone, she had a group of apparent friends that she didn’t fully fit with, which would make her constantly modify her personality to them, often making her seem hypocrite and constantly wonder if what she did was weird or not since she was afraid of being alone and rejected which was an habit in her friend group , so her interest were all the time hidden and in her opinion they were useless for the kind of person she was supposed to be even as such a young age. She meets Garou by accident when she wants to hide to enjoy a new magazine she got of her favorite cartoon and have some time for herself since she was being ignored by her friends after they talked bad behind her back, this was an upsetting moment in her life since she didn’t know how to look for a proper friend group due to not being capable of understand many things about her environment, however, her disappointment by seeing that her secret place was no so secret disappeared when she saw the catalogue the boy was checking, she smiled and giggled as she got closer to him, wondering why he looked so lonely and after thinking a little deciding to talk to him, caught him by surprise.
“I promise you…”
— Garou and Iva.
Their relationship bloomed slowly but surely, the shy boy Garou used to be seemed to be more of a sunny boy rather than a gloomy kid whenever she was near, and he enjoyed the small jokes and her curiosity that would make her ask a million new questions every day. Garou seemed to enjoy the company of his friend and find braveness and hope in their friendship, he admired her and loved to see her laugh at his jokes and smile at each fact he would give her. While Ivanna seemed to be more honest with who she truly was, finding passion for topics she loved such as drawing, since in her words, she wanted to draw him every day until they grew older, promising him she would make the most beautiful portrait when they got older. She admires Garou to the point she once cried in front of him after his attempt of defending her from her classmates jokes about her favorite hero, she loved him a lot, just like he did, though Iva seemed more open with it.
