Iva was introduced as a low rank hero that despite her position in the hero association, showed herself as an impulsive, stubborn, overly emotional and cheerful woman. This cheerful and overexcited behavior has been present since her the first meeting (which is also her first appearance) with Saitama, Genos and Bang at the Hero Association lobby before the Alien conquerors, where without a second of thought she excitedly shows respect and admiration towards the S-Class Hero Rank 3 (at the time) "Silver Fang" (Bang) by sharing to him how she always looked forward to watching a demonstration of his technique "Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist" on TV since she was fourteen, she realizes that she was embarrassing herself when the S-Class Hero Rank 16 (at the time) "Demon Cyborg" Genos decided to comment about how Saitama and Bang were in a hurry for an important meeting, which made her feel immediately ashamed, leading her to apologize and look down at the floor.

Despite showing herself as cheerful and a happy person in front of people she cares about and strangers in their first meeting, in the case of strangers or new people is often just a way to defend and hide herself, way she learned to put on in her high school years and life next to her parents, who forced her to behave in a proper way since she was a child, a small facade she would build up again after Garou left their friendship and she joined the Hero Association. Despite this, she still gives a feeling of sadness when she talks about the ones she cares about and leaves her with a bittersweet feeling in her tongue, in her heart. Deep down, Ivanna is someone melancholic and gentle, someone who used to go through the shadows and calls her own loneliness solitude in a way to cope with the pain it settles in her heart whenever she realizes how alone she actually is. She carries an unmeasured sadness in her body she doesn’t know where it comes from, since in her eyes she has always had everything, she needed and sometimes wanted.

THer relationship with her parents is a bittersweet topic for her because she can’t fault them for anything they have done to protect her, from the marriage arrangement to almost hide her in her home in the early years of her life, she cant put the weight on them entirely, after all, she took their actions as something any parent would do to their child in the situation they found themselves in, though after meeting Garou, after learning from him…she realized there were other ways to protect her. Their strict ways to get her to behave as the others also affected her deeply, since they were vague in her expectations for her, she found herself aiming for an undivided perfection in how a lady and a human should act, causing her trying to control every aspect of her life as well as creating habits like controlling her ingest of food just to have something to have full control of, this actions and her anxiety over losing the control of the things bottled up until she began to develop a compulsive disorder, often thinking she was a bad person without her realizing it in secret, not quite believing in her own kindness and way to care for others, perceiving it as fake since a very young age, causing even more problems in her mental state at just the age of sixteen.

Iva has a very rigid way of thinking and behaving, which makes her have trouble in her mood and self-perception, she often suggests how studying law is the only thing she was made for though she doesn't enjoy it, her instability built up in the starts of her relationship with Garou, where he caught her self-harming habits. Her rigid rules make her look for ways to control herself through self-harm and her eating habits, also making her fall in categorize her actions in good or bad things, making her believe that she is in reality a selfish person for not considering how the ones surrounding her feel over her mental state ailing to her self-destructive self. She managed to see further the black and white after the night Garou found her in her apartment turned into a mess, she trusted him and asked him to stay, letting go of the grip on the fear that didn't let her live.

Despite her disorder and livings in schools and home, she found herself feeling things too deeply, loving too much and caring for the weak or the strong that showed that needed to be cared for, more than just a savior complex, she found a genuine concern to the ones that showed to have a good heart, from outside or deep down. This care for others pushes her forward to grow stronger than before, making her push her limits and give her all to achieve a goal, this goal can be in the shape of a battle or simply as a personal growth she’s trying to achieve. Iva can be really kind at the beginning of her interactions with the people she feels that will reciprocate or need that kindness, this can be lonely kids on the playground or park, old ladies that need help to cross the street, even heroes that seem to be injured after a long fight, helping them to sit or to keep them alive till the Hero Association comes to take them to the hospital (before she was one of those heroes).

In most of her joyous and happy moments she is shown as a dreamy girl who has a lot to give to the world in the shape of kindness and innovations in her buildings, even in her stories she sometimes reads to the kids in hospitals or shelters through monster attacks to reassure them that everything would be fine and that is important to be strong even when we feel the weakest. Iva comes out as motherly and nurturing to the people she’s close to, since she cares for them in an intense way, she can’t help but give her attention and love, love that she thinks they deserve.

On several occasions Iva shows deep admiration and love towards Garou. Through the Human Monster Saga, the affection she felt towards him was ambiguous if the love was romantic or friendly, her emotions flooded whenever he was in conversation or near him. In the ominous future Cosmic Fear Garou created, her last feelings and thoughts are focused solely on him and how sad it made her that such a golden heart was darkened by something else, confessing how she would've loved to lean her head on his shoulder once again and how she wished to have been able to help her only and most beloved friend. Before the Hero Hunter Arc she confesses how she felt somewhat safe near him and at the end of his saga she doesn't hesitate to support and care for him, proving her caring nature, especially towards him.

Even if she willingly joined the Hero Association structure by being a hero, it was an act of impulsiveness and a way to reassure and prove herself about her parent's views and doubts about how clumsy she was to handle herself alone, though in many occasions she seems to lack of courage and is unable to say no to her parents' wishes, showing a bit of the fearful and people pleasant position she actually is and unintentionally hides under the stubbornness, intensity of her emotions and morals. Part of Iva morals are based on the voice in her heart, mixed up with the genuine despise, hate and resentment to "dirty intentioned" selfishness, this hatred built up due to her personal experiences with people that manipulated situations however they wanted thanks to having the power to do it and the intention to hurt someone else, making the vulnerable and less privileged one be on a bad spotlight, which often resulted in being hated by said powerful figures.

The "dirty intentioned selfishness" also can come out from her soft self on people, coming out as empathic with the people that surround her, making her belief that selfishness can be separated in two based on the way people behave and where they want to take their life to, showing how she tries to look out for the reasons behind everyone's actions, making her believe that sometimes being selfish is acceptable when you are not doing it with the exclusive purpose of hurt someone and stand up for yourself, said thoughts is one of the aspects she admired of Garou and the last she applied on herself because of the already mentioned people pleaser attitude she unconsciously shows for the sake of not hurting others, exposing her as selfless in front of some people's eyes, especially Garou, who has shown frustration, perhaps irritation towards her at times.

Her presence in the Hero Association has been slightly uncomfortable over the brushes she has had with some executives and some heroes among her class, who seem to bother her with a constant double standard or facades of being the perfect and innocent people who only look the good when feel nothing at the problems society has to go through every day, just like Red Nose and his attention-seeking and selfish personality, who she has had multiple discussions with thanks to being teamed with him various times.

Though Iva's cheerful and impulsive self, in her hero's duties she doesn't enjoy being in the spotlight, showing that she's actually introverted outside the people she admires and/or is comfortable with. Whenever the crowd is more than the people who are being helped out by her, she tends to get clumsier movements and seems a bit unable to explain her mind, being a lower Rank is still a way to be far from people's eyes and avoid a fanbase because she herself thinks she wouldn't be able to handle to be perceived by many people at the same time, this introversion is also shown in how she works, tending to do quiet duties like cat rescues, some criminals and community service while avoiding the made-up teams by the association that has received multiple letter of request from her has asking to not consider her as often as others for them, though she tries to be as cooperative and useful as possible whenever they put her into one. In battle she feels a bit more secure of herself, especially if the opponent she's fighting against is a monster which results in her personality getting blunter and more playful thanks to the adrenaline rush, she gets from them, ailing to the mockery towards the weaker monsters who often end up underestimating her spirit. She is compromised to get better at fighting and being strong, her caring nature blooming with the intention to protect the weak and the ones she loves and cares about, this boosted by Garou's presence and impact in her life, which pushed her further to test her abilities between fights when there's no danger for any civilians, using battles against monsters as a way to prove how better her resistance has gotten since the last monster she fought and learn from them.

• Her hero's attire is based on a ladybug, meaningful bug she has loved since she was a kid, the stockings are handmade because she is picky with the fabric she uses, the same happens with her helmet.
• She has a lot of sensory issues, which often shows when how she tends to use the same kind of clothing that avoids covering her arms.
• She is very clumsy whenever she walks and that's why she is always holding onto Garou's arm, who eventually grew fond of it.
• Her favorite color is red, and she often wears it along with black, which is her third favorite color.
• Even though red is her favorite color, the one that makes her happier is the color yellow, rumors say is because of Garou's eye color.
• Her cooking improved after spending time with Garou in those months before his hero hunt.
• Her favorite flowers are lilies, she and her relationship with Garou are often represented as flowers, this is shown in the chapter "heartbeat" that refers to them as lily buds waiting to bloom.
